The earliest recorded history of China begins with the Shang Dynasty. Spanning an estimated six-century period of 1600 to 1046 BC, the dynasty gave rise to the 'Bronze Age' in China,  The Shang Dynasty period also coincided with significant progress in math, astronomy, art, and military technology. The Shang Dynasty had also developed the important use of oracle bones.
